Río Tinto- Huelva

Uno de esos lugares del que todos hemos oído hablar, pero que pocos son los que se han dado el lujo de visitar, de recorrer ese cauce siempre sorprendente desde hace ya algunos miles de años, paisaje auténticamente marciano, nos encontramos en otro planeta.
El río Tinto no defrauda y si nos atrevemos a recorrerlo durante los meses estivales, cuando el calor aprieta en esa Andalucía profunda, el bajo nivel de su cauce hará que las aguas se remansen y los colores surjan con más fuerza. El nombre viene del color de sus aguas, obtenido de los metales cuyos yacimientos se encuentran a lo largo de su cauce y de la acción de bacterias que oxidan los iones de dichos minerales. Transcurre todo su cauce por la provincia de Huelva, terminando por confluir con el río Odiel en su desembocadura. |
One of those places that we have all heard about, but that few are those who have given themselves the luxury of visiting, of crossing that always surprising channel for some thousands of years, a truly Martian landscape, we are on another planet.
The Tinto river does not disappoint and if we dare to cross it during the summer months, when the heat squeezes in that deep Andalusia, the low level of its channel will cause the waters to overflow and the colors emerge more strongly. The name comes from the color of its waters, obtained from metals whose deposits are found along its channel and from the action of bacteria that oxidize the ions of these minerals. All its course passes through the province of Huelva, ending up at the end of the river Odiel at its mouth. |
